Designed for freshman or first year sophomore students. These students explore the many choices they will have in agricultural education and FFA.

Winter Leadership Training (Three Trainings)

Track 1 – Freshmen and sophomore students explore their personal values, strengths, and develop strategies to apply them in their lives.

Track 2 – Junior and senior students examine how they can use their own skills to positively impact others and their own communities.

State Officer Selection Nomination Committee Pre-Training – This pre-training focuses on the role of a positive state officer, behavioral interview methods, the impact of selecting an organization’s leadership team, and providing a voice for local chapters and the state association. Each chapter can have one representative on the committee to select the new state officer team at the annual state convention.

Nevada Agricultural Youth Legislative Experience

Junior and senior students learn about the legislative process and then meet legislators during the second day of the experience. This event is organized and presented by the student state officers.

Summer Leadership Camp

High school students attend workshops related to opportunities in the FFA and social/emotional growth. The camp also provides plenty of time for recreation and meeting fellow students.

Chapter Officer Leadership Training (COLT)

COLT focuses on developing chapter officers. The chapter officers learn about how they can make a difference in their chapter.  Officer duties, implementing chapter activities and team dynamics are some of the workshop topics presented by the state officers.

State Convention and Career/Leadership Development Events

This is the largest state event and occurs annually each spring. Workshops, leadership-based sessions and skill-building events are some of the highlights of the convention. Participants compete in more than 20 different career and leadership development events and the winners are recognized during the sessions. These sessions also include motivational speakers, entertainment, and the state officers’ retiring addresses.
